Terms of Service
Plain English summary: SynkMind is a medical education platform. You own your account. We don't sell your data. Use the platform responsibly. Don't cheat or share access. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using SynkMind ("the Platform", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SynkMind.
2. Who We Are
SynkMind is a medical education platform offering study tools, practice question banks (including USMLE Step 1 preparation), lecture notes, and AI-powered learning features. We serve medical students across multiple institutions.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By using the platform, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
4. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions is prohibited.
5. School Enrollment Codes
Access to school-specific curriculum is granted through enrollment codes distributed by your institution. You may not share, sell, or redistribute enrollment codes. Codes are for your personal use only. SynkMind is not responsible for codes distributed without authorization by your school.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
- USMLE Q-Bank access requires a paid subscription after a 1-day free trial.
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- All sales are final. SynkMind is a digital product delivered immediately on payment, and we do not give refunds — including for partial billing periods, unused time, or a change of mind. You confirm this at checkout before payment is taken.
- You may cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for; it does not refund the period you are in.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
7. Refunds — Digital Product, All Sales Final
Everything SynkMind sells is digital content that is made available to you the moment payment succeeds: question banks, lectures, AI tutoring, spaced repetition and analytics. There is nothing to return and nothing we can take back once it has been read.
For that reason all sales are final and we do not issue refunds. This includes, without limitation: unused subscription time; a subscription you forgot to cancel before it renewed; a change of mind; failing or deciding not to sit your exam; and dissatisfaction with content you have already accessed. By ticking the agreement box at checkout you confirm that you understand and accept this, that you want immediate access, and that you are giving up any cancellation or withdrawal period that would otherwise apply to a digital purchase.
You can stop future charges at any time by cancelling — see Cancelling below. We would rather you cancelled early than paid for a month you did not want, so cancelling is one click and takes effect immediately for future renewals.
Two exceptions, because they are not really refunds: if you were charged more than once for the same subscription period through a fault on our side, or charged after a cancellation had already taken effect, we will correct it. Email support@synkmind.com with the date and amount.
8. Cancelling
Cancel from your account’s billing page at any time. Your subscription is then set not to renew: you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and no further charge is made. You do not need to email us, and you do not need to give a reason.
If you re-subscribe later you start a new subscription at the price then in effect. A free trial is offered once per person per product; cancelling and signing up again does not grant a second one.
9. Donations
One-time donations are voluntary and non-refundable. They do not entitle the donor to any additional services or features. All donations are processed securely through Stripe.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share, distribute, or resell access to the platform or its content.
- Scrape, copy, or reproduce content from the platform without permission.
- Use the platform to cheat on actual examinations or assessments.
- Attempt to circumvent any access restrictions or security measures.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform.
- Post harmful, offensive, or misleading content in any community features.
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
11. Content and Intellectual Property
All content on SynkMind — including question banks, lecture notes, AI responses, and study materials — is the intellectual property of SynkMind or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use content for your personal educational purposes.
Content from Becker Medical Review products is used under license. NBME forms are independently verified and adapted for educational use.
Your licence is personal. You may not copy, scrape, bulk-download, republish, resell or share our questions, explanations or lecture content, whether manually or by automated means, and you may not use them to train or evaluate a machine-learning model. Automated or high-volume access to our content endpoints is not permitted. Access to content is logged against your account, and access we identify as automated or in breach of this clause may result in rate limiting or suspension without refund.
12. AI Features
SynkMind uses AI (including large language models) to provide explanations, simplifications, and study assistance. AI-generated content is for educational purposes only and should not be considered medical advice. Always verify clinical information with authoritative sources.
13. Privacy
Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
14. Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from your profile settings.
15. Disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. SynkMind does not guarantee that the platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will meet your specific requirements. Practice questions and study materials are for educational purposes and do not constitute a guarantee of exam success.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SynkMind shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the platform.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or, where arbitration is not available, in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the platform with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
