Safety first. Then the alliance.
Counseling skills, areas of clinical focus, assessment, treatment planning and the ACA Code of Ethics — NBCC’s six work behaviors, on a Behavioral-Health Core shared with our EPPP course.
Under the ACA Code of Ethics, when a counselor terminates a counseling relationship, the counselor is expected to:
The ACA Code calls for pretermination counseling and recommending appropriate alternative providers. Abrupt ending risks abandonment, termination does not require client agreement, and referrals are offered proactively, not only on request.
Six work behaviors and the ACA Code. Your score on each.
The NCE is 200 questions, 160 scored, on six work behaviors. Every question here carries the one it tests, so you see which part of the work is short.
The order the exam rewards
- 1Safety first
- 2Build the alliance
- 3Assess
- 4Plan with the client
- 5Intervene
- 6Refer when it is not yours
Every question carries its logic word; the explanation says why the safe-sounding option loses.
Five things built for the counseling room.
Every plan opens everything. These are the five that matter most for this exam, shown the way you’ll meet them.
Six full-length forms, up to a 200-item sitting
The real paper is 200 questions, 160 of them scored. Our full-length forms are two of 200 and four of 160 items — the scored part of the paper. Weighted across NBCC’s six work behaviors the way the exam is. Three shorter forms of 80 sit beside them. 3,755 original questions in all, counted once.
- Timed, or in tutor mode explaining as you go
- A form of only what you got wrong
Every form with its real size. Difficulty is the form’s own rating.
Every wrong answer gets its own reason
Each explanation says why the right answer is right and why each distractor fails — the exact line you would want if you had picked it. Every item is checked blind by a second AI model that never sees the key. This one is a real item from the On-level 1 form.
A client who has met her goals for panic disorder is approaching termination.
A key task of this final phase is to:
A tutor who asks what you do first — and why
Say what you are stuck on, out loud. Axon teaches the section in the voice of the national counselor exam (NBCC), draws the reasoning on a board as it speaks, and quizzes you on it before it moves on. It knows your syllabus, your weak spots and where you left off.
- Teach me, Quiz me, I’ll listen, Why I missed it, Cram
- Fifteen free minutes to meet it, once; top up in packs after that
- Every session leaves a recap you can reopen
“A client opens with: ‘I don’t even know why I’m here — my wife made me come.’ Before you ask a single question — what does he need to hear from you first?”
Eleven lectures. A check after every section.
73 sections, each closed by its own knowledge check. Select any word on any page and Define opens a one-line meaning, why it matters and what it connects to — written for this exam.
Four of the 11 lectures, by their real titles. The bars are an example of checks passed. Audio narration for NCE is on its way; the text is all here today.
Weak Spots, and a plan that reschedules itself
Your true score per area, settled from every answer you give anywhere in the course. The plan books the red ones around your week — hand it a screenshot of your timetable — gives every lecture seven spaced looks, and carries forward whatever a missed day ate.
One price. Everything open. A free day to decide.
Before you start
Is this the current NCE?
Yes — the 200-question exam, 160 scored, on NBCC’s six work behaviors. NBCC has announced a redesigned NCE from 1 July 2027 (170 questions, three answer options, new domains); this course is built for the exam in use now.
Why do the NCE and EPPP courses share lectures?
Both rest on the same behavioral-health knowledge, so the eleven lectures are one core written for both; the practice forms, their weighting and the tutor are each exam’s own.
Are these real exam questions?
No. Every item is original, written to the public content outline and checked blind by a second AI model that never sees the key. Nothing is copied from a published form, and we are not affiliated with any examining board.
How does the free day work?
Create an account and everything opens for one day — forms, lectures, Axon’s free minutes. No card. Keep it from $49 a month.
I have an access code. What do I do?
Create your account, open the course, and enter the code in Billing & Subscription or on the plan screen. A code opens the product without a subscription.
