Four sections. One average that counts.
The science, the cubes, the reading and the arithmetic — each on its own clock, and no pass mark, only the Academic Average you are aiming for. Both items on the bench are real items from the course.
On an island with two distinct seed types (very small and very large) but almost no medium seeds, finches with either small beaks or large beaks feed efficiently, while medium-beaked finches struggle to feed on either seed type. Over time, this situation is most likely to produce:
When both extremes are favored and intermediates are at a disadvantage, the population tends toward a bimodal distribution: this is disruptive (diversifying) selection. Stabilizing selection favoring medium beaks is the opposite of what the food supply rewards. Directional selection toward only large beaks ignores that small beaks are also favored. 'No change' contradicts the strong selective pressure against medium beaks. Favoring both extremes while selecting against the middle defines disruptive selection.

Text-described edition — figures coming. The real PAT is pictures. In this edition each figure is described in words precisely enough to solve; the drawing here is ours, of what the words describe.
Study this figure. A single flat layer of cubes, 4 wide (left to right) by 3 deep (front to back) — 12 cubes in one layer — rests on a table. Every exposed surface of the whole stack is painted, but the bottom faces resting on the table are left unpainted. How many of the 12 cubes have exactly 1 painted face?
Paint reaches every outward-facing surface, but no downward face is painted (the bottom rests on the table or on the cube below, so underside faces never receive paint). Working cube by cube, the painted-face breakdown of this stack is: 4 cubes with 3, 6 cubes with 2, 2 cubes with 1. Cubes with exactly 1 painted face number 2. The other options correspond to the counts for a different painted-face category (a classic mix-up) or to forgetting that the bottom faces stay unpainted.

Every section on its own clock. Five scores make the average.
A full-length here is the real day: four timed sections and the one optional break. Since March 2025 the ADA reports every score on 200–600 in steps of 10, and there is no pass mark — your target Academic Average is the line, 440 until you set your own.
The Academic Average is the mean of Quantitative Reasoning, Reading, Biology, General and Organic Chemistry (ADA). Perceptual Ability is reported on its own. Example numbers; yours come from your own sittings on SynkMind’s approximate practice scale — never an official ADA score.
Five things built for the dental school applicant.
Every plan opens everything. These are the five that matter most for this exam.
Two full-lengths of 278
Each sat as four timed sections with the real break, then a score report against your target. Our reading section is 48 questions; the real one is 50. Between the full-lengths: Natural Sciences and Quantitative forms at three difficulties, three Perceptual Ability sets (text-described) and three reading sets.
Every wrong answer gets its reason
Each explanation says why the right answer is right and why each wrong one fails. From a Quantitative item: “14 L.”
A solution is 30% acid. How many liters of acid are in 20 L of solution?
0.30·20 = 6 L. "0.6 L" misplaces the decimal. "14 L" takes 70%. "60 L" multiplies by 3 wrongly.

Before you start
Is Perceptual Ability the real format?
Not yet, and we say so wherever it shows. This edition describes each figure in words precisely enough to solve; drawn figures are coming. The real PAT is pictures.
Why is there no pass line?
The DAT has no pass mark: every dental school decides what it wants. SynkMind draws your target instead — by default an Academic Average of 440, about the average first-year dental student (ADEA 2025 data, converted with the ADA’s own concordance table).
Is the score a DAT score?
No. It is an approximate practice scale on the ADA’s 200–600 range — never an official ADA score. Our reading section is 48 questions; the real one is 50.
Are these real exam questions?
No. Every item is original, written to the public content outline and checked blind by a second AI model that never sees the key. Nothing is copied from a published form, and we are not affiliated with any examining board.
